Paul entered the financial services industry in 2001 after hanging up his skates at the end of nine seasons of professional hockey. Finance has held his interest for a long time, and he spent summers helping out in his family’s businesses between hockey and school. After finishing up his degree from the University of Manitoba, Paul started out with MetLife Securities. In 2009 he co-founded Higgins & Bailley Wealth Management, an independent wealth management firm, which was recently renamed Bailley Group Wealth Management. He loves working with people and solving the puzzle that is comprehensive financial planning. Every client and every situation is different, and Paul enjoys putting the pieces together, coming up with potential strategies, and helping to solve problems for his clients. He loves being able to show a client how they can retire, without worrying about where the money will come from. As an Investment Advisor Representative with Regal Investment Advisors, he always tries to act in his clients’ best interests. Not only that, but by being able to offer both investment and insurance options, Paul is able to offer potential solutions that better fit each client’s situation. Paul holds his Retirement Income Certified Professional Designation®, a Series 65 securities registration and is life, accident and health insurance licensed.
Paul was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He moved away from home at the age of 16 to pursue a junior and professional hockey career, a journey that took him all over Canada and the U.S. He eventually settled in Greenville, SC after playing for the Greenville Grrrowl during their inaugural season in 1998. It was during that year that he met his future wife, Joy, who grew up in Pebble Creek. He and Joy have two sons and now live in Taylors, SC. Paul's oldest son graduated from the University of South Carolina August of 2019, and his 16-year old is an avid hockey player, much like his father. Even now, Paul continues to be very active in the local hockey community. He co-founded the Carolina Rage Hockey association, where he helps coach his son’s team and lead the organization. Paul is also extremely active in other areas of the Greenville community. He was the youngest member elected to the Board of Governors of the Commerce Club, and was the founder and first president of the Young Executive Committee there as well. He has also served as president of many committees at the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce, where he was named the Ambassador of the Year in 2005. Paul also enjoys golf, working out, and, of course, playing hockey recreationally himself.

Blane has served in the financial services industry since 2020, fulfilling his dream of following in his father’s footsteps. Growing up, he was constantly learning more and more about financial literacy from Paul, and that led to him pursuing and acquiring a business degree. After a few successful years in the corporate world, the opportunity came for him to join the family business and he hasn’t looked back.
Blane loves what he does because he wants to be a reliable, dedicated member of his community and professional network. He strives to be someone you can depend on, to act on your behalf to help take the uncertainty out of retirement. He feels grateful to have had his father guide him through some of his biggest financial decisions, and he wants to be that guide for others who don't have someone like that. Having the ability to positively change someone’s financial life for years to come carries significant weight with him, and he is genuinely interested in your well-being, not just earning your business. Blane takes the approach of caring about your financial picture in its entirety, not just the insurance pieces that apply to him. If there's nothing that he can do for you to positively impact your financial future, he’s not afraid to tell you that.
Blane is married to his middle school sweetheart and has a younger brother that means the world to him. He loves to fish and watch sports, especially football and hockey. While he is a die-hard fan of both the Atlanta Falcons and the Winnipeg Jets, Blane’s favorite thing in all sports is watching his brother play hockey. He is an avid golfer and loves the fact that it’s a game you can never quite master. Blane holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of South Carolina.
